Romanticizing my everyday
Romanticizing My Everyday Beauty Routine
Lately I’ve stopped looking at beauty as something I do to “fix” myself and started seeing it as a form of care.
There’s something calming about waking up before the kids for even ten quiet minutes to wash my face, put on skincare, and feel like myself again before the day begins. Some mornings it’s quick because real life happens. Other mornings I’ll light a candle, turn on soft music, and actually enjoy the process.
I used to think beauty routines had to be expensive or complicated to matter. Now my favorite moments are the simplest ones — moisturizing my skin after a shower, brushing my hair slowly, putting on lip gloss even if I’m staying home all day.
Motherhood can make you pour so much into everyone else that you forget you deserve softness too.
I’m learning that taking care of yourself isn’t selfish. It’s grounding. It’s healing. It’s a reminder that you’re still a person outside of the title “mom.”
So lately I’ve been romanticizing the little things. Clean sheets. Fresh skincare. Hair masks while cleaning the house. Drinking water out of a cute cup just because it makes me happy.
Softness matters. Especially for women who spend so much time caring for everyone else.
